| Childhood Singing with Parents * I started singing with my parents when I was young. As missionaries my parents would travel from church to church singing and sharing about their mission experiences and drumming up support. Piano - I started piano lessons when I was in 2nd grade, and have played ever since Trombone - This was an instrument that I played briefly in elementary school, and I'm sure on some level that it added some depth to my musicality...it must have...right?? Elementary Plays - I was in several plays in elementary school. I was in "The Christmas Carol", In "Oliver", and "Cinderella" to name a few. |

| High School Plays - in high school, I was overseas, so the music program was limited. I was in a couple of plays in high school though. One, I was Frank Jr. in "Cheaper by the Dozen". Chorus - I was a tenor in the High School Chorus I was in. Songwriting - I started doing some song writing in High School, but mainly instrumental music on the piano. Luckily my family had a piano in our dorm, so I was able to play. College College Choir - In College I was in two choirs. I started out in a group called the "Chapel Choir", and then after a couple of years in that group I was "traded up" to the "College Choir". I sang 2nd tenor, and one of the highlights of this group was that we did the Mozart Requiem with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Select Choir - "Eurochoir" was a group that I auditioned into that took a trip overseas and did a tour through Germany, Hungary, Austria, and Czechoslovakia. This was a great experience where we did a mix of Sacred and Secular songs, all sung A Capella(SATB). Bobby and the Boys - * This group was the beginnings of my exposure to Barbershop Music. Since then I have worked in several different Barbershop choruses and Quartets. Sound Doctrine - MIDI / Electronic Music - my first exposure to MIDI was in a class in college. The professor in the class was a very forward thinking professor and musician. He was instrumental in setting up an electronic music program at my school that I was privileged to be involved with. - Studio Recordings - as a result of the electronic music program, I was able to be involved with many of the musicians and recordings that were produced as a result of the program. - Sound Production - This program was also my introduction to music production. Through the program I was able to do sound production for live performances as well as studio recordings. This really was my open door into the world of music and performance. Solo Performance - Piano and Vocals - I have been playing the piano and singing songs for over 10 years now. I sing at weddings, restaurants, bars, private parties...special events of all kinds. I think the weirdest place I ever had a gig was in a hardware store. =) fun stuff. - July 4th DC on the Mall - one of the largest audiences I've played in front of as a solo artist. Community Involvement Chorus of the Genesee - A Barbershop Chorus from Rochester, NY....lots of fun... Batavia Barbershoppers - Another terrific Barbershop Chorus - award winning Short Tract Town Theatre - A Town theatre in Short Tract, NY (where the heck is that?) Professional Solo Performer Piano and Vocals "Broadway Dreamers" A semi-theatrical group that performed around the Southern Tier, and Wester NY "Chorduroy" A Barbershop Quartet - we competed in the Seneca Land District Competition Hillside Wesleyan Church I was the music director, and music leader for this church for about 4 years. "Sloan Flint" A 3 piece Rock band that started out as a 4 piece band and eventually disintegrated to nothing. We played together for a couple of years and played many of the Olean/Cuba, NY area bars and some private parties. Rj and Aron A two piece, guitar and piano and vocals. Rj and I played together for about a year, and played many of the Bars and Restaurants in Olean, NY "Nik and the Nice Guys" - Keys - Vocals - Sound Production A group out of Rochester, NY - I have been playing keys, singing background harmonies, and sometimes singing lead. Many times I am also doing sound production for this group. I have been doing 4-8 shows a month with this group and have travelled to Syracuse, Cleveland, Orlando, Buffalo, Rochester, and many other places. Aron and Danny Just starting out with Danny Roelle - a great drummer from Rochester, NY. We have done a couple of small shows together so far. Seems to be going well. |
